How much does tree felling cost in Johannesburg?
It depends on the size of the tree, how easy it is to reach, and how much material must be removed. A small tree in an open garden costs far less than a large tree between walls and power lines. Send us a few photos on WhatsApp and we will give you a free estimate, usually the same day.
Do I need permission to cut down a tree on my property?
Most trees on private property can be removed without a permit. Protected species under the National Forests Act, such as certain yellowwoods and camel thorns, do need a licence. We check this for you before any work starts so you are always on the right side of the law.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry public liability insurance and workmen's compensation, and we work to OHS Act safety standards on every job. You can request proof of cover with your quote.
How quickly can you come out?
Quotes are usually done within 24 hours and most jobs are completed within a few days of acceptance. For storm damage and dangerous trees we respond 24/7, day or night.
What is the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Stump grinding shreds the stump to below ground level, leaving the roots to decay naturally. It is quicker, cheaper and ideal if you want to plant grass or pave over the spot. Full removal digs out the stump and main roots, which is only needed when you are building on that exact spot. We will recommend the right option for your plans.
What happens to the branches and wood after felling?
Nothing goes to waste and nothing gets left behind. Branches are chipped into mulch, usable trunks are cut into firewood, and we rake and sweep the site before we leave. If you would like to keep the mulch or firewood, just tell us.
